National Basketball League side KIU Titan’s off season recruitment drive shows no signs of receding, that is if the latest developments from their Kasanga base are anything to savour.
The Kasanga based side has added Small forward Sam Agutu to their ranks on a two-year deal, the club announced on Wednesday.
Agutu re-joins from Betway Power where his stint with the the Five-time league champions has been shrouded with niggling injuries.
The small Forward made glowing remarks upon his unveiling, labelling the Kasanga based side “home for me”.
“I feel like this is home for me because I have played here for almost seven years from high school to the time I left. He said.
“I didn’t play much for the last two years so this is kind of a new start for me.”
Agutu joins the growing list of former players returning to KIU Titans with Oscar Muge and Denis Balungu all re-signing again for their former paymasters.
Agutu, standing at 6’4 feets, was memorably a cog of the Titans team that made the club’s first-ever National Basketball League playoff finals in 2017 where they fell to City Oilers 4-1.
He adds that he is bouyed by his second coming.
“I bring the same energy and more. Whatever the team will ask of me is what I will do. 2017 was more of unfinished business for us, our goal was to reach the finals and now it’s to win it all,” he added.
The 2021 National Basketball League is tentatively set to tip-off on Friday, April 2.
