I Am Sorry: Aucho Apologises For Misconduct

Uganda Cranes midfielder Khalid Aucho has come out and apologized for his misconduct while on National team duty.

Aucho was allegedly caught on the wrong side of the Law and was dismissed from the Cranes camp on a Friday evening for refusing to adhere to the Cranes code of Conduct.

This incident left many with a big debate in local football with a lot of criticism from the football fraternity and NUP president Robert Kyagulanyi who regarded the incident as a Political witch-hunt.

On Sunday, March 21, Aucho has come out and cleared the air with an apology to all the football fraternity.

Posting on his social media platforms, Aucho says he takes full responsibility of the mistakes he made that led to his suspension.

“Am remorseful and I take full responsibility of the mistakes that led to my suspension from the National team Camp for the forthcoming AFCON Qualifiers against Burkina Faso and Malawi. Read the post.

“I regret my actions and am ready to put this chapter behind me it’s a dream to represent my country.

“To FUFA , fellow players, fans, family and friends, I can only Say I’m Sorry.”

Aucho also wished the rest of the team success in the two encounters ahead.

“I wish the Uganda Cranes success in the two encounters and I hope for the best, see you soon.”

The Cranes are set to play two games in five days in the AFCON Qualifiers, one coming against Burkina Faso at home on 24th before going away to Malawi on the 29th March.

The Cranes sit second in group B with 7 points, one below leaders Burkina Faso with Malawi and South Sudan having 4 and 3 points respectively.

In the two encounters, Uganda needs to just draw both games in order to seal a place in Final AFCON tournament for the third consecutive time in a row.
