Patience Has Seen Me Return To The National Team – Kigonya

Uganda Cranes goalkeeper Mathias Kigonya has revealed the reason behind his return on national team duties.

The shot-stopper who last featured on cranes at 2016 African Nations Championship when he was still at Bright Stars FC said, his ability to never give up, hard work, patience and discipline are the reason behind his return.

“Football is all about time. I just have been patient all the time and I feel so good to be back on national team. Kigonya noted.

“I have not been on any pressure, knowing that the time will come. I didn’t give up and I have been working hard to get back to the national because its every player’s dream.”

The Azam FC goalie also said that the main target now is qualifying and believes all players are ready to negotiate past Burkina Faso come Wednesday.

“First target is qualifying.

“We just have to work together with fellow players to see that we at least achieve something this time round.”

However, the keeper has a lot to do if he is to feature in the game.

He is currently understood to be third choice behind Denis Onyango and Salim Jamal.

The Cranes are in 2nd position of group B Afcon qualifiers with 7 point from 4 games.

After Burkina Faso, they will play their last game on Monday 29, in Lilongwe away to Malawi.
