Electric winger Lumala Abdul is set to miss Uganda Cranes crucial tie against Burkina Faso.
The Cranes host the Stallions this Wednesday at St Mary’s Stadium in Kitende in the 2021 Total Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers.
Lumala is said to have injured his knee again in training on Sunday.
The Pyramids FC player trained separately during an evening session at Kitende on Monday and may not be 100% ready for the Wednesday game.
The game might have come earlier for Lumala who was operated in Belgium in June last year.
Since returning to full training with Pyramids last December, the winger has not played a single minute for his side in a competitive game.
He made his Uganda Cranes debut on 9 June 2019 in a friendly against Turkmenistan and was integral as the side reached the knockout stage at the 2019 AFCON finals in Egypt.
The former Mjallby, Kalmar, Varbegs, Helsingborg, Varnamo and Syrianska player is yet to make a home debut for the Uganda Cranes.
If Lumala misses the Burkina Faso game, it will be a big blow for coach Abdallah Mubiru who will have to squeeze a result behind closed doors without Uche Ikpeazu (pulled Out), Bevis Mugabi (Injured) and Aucho Khalid (Dismissed).
Elvis Bwomono was present but didn’t train today while Moses Waiswa, Ronald Mukiibi, Daniel Isiagi, Allan Kyambadde and Daniel Isiagi took part in Monday’s training session.
After Burkina Faso on Wednesday, the Cranes face Malawi on March 29 in the last group game.
