Cranes To Fly Out To Malawi By Chartered Flight

The Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) has confirmed that the Uganda Cranes National team will use a chartered flight to Malawi.

The Cranes are set to face Malawi in their finals AFCON qualifier game on 29th March 2021.

The development of using a chartered flight ahead of the games, was confirmed by FUFA Communications Director, Ahmed Hussein.

“The team will fly out on 28th March 2021 aboard Uganda Airlines Bombardier. Hussein was quoted as saying by fufa.co.ug.

“It is important for the National Team to travel with a lot of comfort during the current COVID-19 times when you need the entire team to move together for better preparations.” He added before adding that the final contingent will be released by FUFA.

When they played Burkina Faso a game that ended goalless at the Stade Du Aout in Ouagadougou, the Cranes used the Bombardier for travelling back home.

Uganda plays Burkina Faso on Wednesday 24th March at St. Mary’s Kitende before playing Malawi away from home.

The Cranes currently sit second in group B on Seven points, one adrift leaders Burkina Faso.

In the two encounters, Uganda needs to collect two points in order to seal a place in the Final AFCON tournament for the third consecutive time.
