Uganda Martyrs ladies team new signing Anita Namata says she is prepared and ready to play against her former side Kawempe Muslim Ladies Team .
Namata re-joined Uganda Martyrs from the Kawempe based side where she managed to score several goals for the team to keep it top before the league was declared null and void due to Covid 19 pandemic .
Uganda Martyrs ladies team will play Kawempe Muslims ladies team in their second fixture of the Women Super League on 20th April before taking on Kampala Queens and Tooro Queens on the 21st and 24th of April respectively
“I am very happy that I left Kawempe for Martyrs and I think it is time for me to prove to them (Kawempe) that I can perform better in any other team and am ready to face them without any fear. said Namata.
“The pandemic hasn’t been good on our side because we have had our Women Leagues cancelled but we thank our coaches who have been there for us.
“We have been training so hard and every team we will face will witness our strength.”
The 20020/2021 FUFA Women Super League will be played in a format different from normal.
It will be played in a tournament format with ten teams divided two groups of five teams each.
The 2016 MVP and 2017 top scorer says they are ready to compete and participate till the last stage of the tournament.
“We are ready to compete and the first thing we will do as a team is to first get out of the group and then we will move to the later stages until we reach the final stage of the tournament.”
Uganda Martyrs Ladies Team will play against Makerere University Ladies Team in the opening fixture on 19th April 202.
