Proline FC forward Hakim Kiwanuka says they will fight until the end to see Proline back to the Uganda premier league.
Kiwanuka made those remarks following his side’s 4-0 victory over Kigezi Home Boyz in their FUFA Big League opener at the Omondi Stadium in Lugogo.
Goals from kiwanuka, Rodgers Mato, Hamisi Kizza and goalkeeper Nicholas Ssebwato ensured victory for the Anthony Bongole coached side
“I thank God for enabling us win today. I thank our coaches and my fellow players for the dedication to win and I’m immensely Happy. Hakim Kiwanuka exclusively told this website.
“We won’t stop, we will fight hard to see Proline back in the top tier Insha- Allah.
“It wasn’t an easy journey to the start of the league as everyone saw COVID influence, getting relegated with games still to play but we said life goes on and we had to prepare going forward.
“Scoring against Kigezi isn’t by mistake I’m working hard to up my game with goals with my fellow teammates in training and I’m glad its paying off.
“As a player I’m targeting to be top scorer and I will work tirelessly to be there.
Kiwanuka also says the inclusion of Ssebwato, defender Savio Kabugo and Hamisi Kizza is a boost in the squad
“When you closely see these players, they bring experience to the team and we the young ones learn from them and I believe they will be vital for us as we seek to get back to the Top flight.”
Proline FC play Tooro United in their second game and Kiwanuka anticipates a tough encounter
“In our group we know Tooro united is a strong team with a winning coach in Edward Golola but we are ready and we will produce positive results.”
Tooro United beat Water FC 2-1 in the FUFA Big League opener.
