Maroons FC beat Jinja-based newcomers Gaddafi FC 2-0 in a FUFA Big Leagie game played at the Kyabazinga stadium in Bugembe, Jinja.

Forward Fred Amaku scored a brace in the second half to ensure victory for the Charles Ayiekho coached side.

Amaku gave visitors the lead in the 61st minute with a thunderous strike just outside the box.

With nine minutes to full-time, Amaku doubled the lead for Maroons when he converted from the penalty mark after Samuel OMara was fouled in the forbidden area.

Both teams won their league openers with Gaddafi beating Mbale Heroes 1-0 thanks to Joel Madondo strike.

Maroons FC beat Paidha Black Angels 3-1 in their league opener.

After their second successive win in a row, Maroons FC host Arua Hills on match-day 3 in bid for top spot.

Gaddafi FC, after suffering their first loss, visit Kataka FC.
