Onduparaka Confirms Bainomugisha Departure

Uganda Premier League side Onduparaka FC have confirmed parting ways with coach Vialli Bainomugisha.

The Caterpillars join 13-time league winner KCCA as the other club to have sacked a coach ahead of the start of the second round.

Onduparaka FC have confirmed Bainomugisha’s departure just a day before their league game against Busoga United.

“Onduparaka announced the termination of the contract of Mr Bainomugisha Vialli as Head coach with immediate effect. The management of the club has arrived at this decision after careful consideration and for the best interest of both parties,” a statement from the club reads in part.

“We would like to thank coach Vialli for the tremendous contribution made towards the growth and development of Onduparaka FC.

“Onduparaka will not make any further comments in this regard due to respect for the relationship mutually enjoyed by both parties.”

Ahead of the second round, Onduparaka FC find themselves in 8th position on the log with 21 points.

Bainomugisha Was Long Gone

Bainomugisha left Onduparaka FC after Match-day five!

He was not on the touchline as the club were held against Busoga United on February 12, 2021 at Greenlight Stadium in Arua.

The coach then, was demanding arrears of about seven months, and he chose to stay back in Kampala after the club unveiled AbaBet and MTN Uganda as sponsors.

The former Kigezi Homeboyz, Mbarara City and Lweza FC coach joined the Caterpillars in July last year.

He won two (MYDA and Kitara) of the five games, collecting eight points (including the draw against Express and Wakiso Giants) and lost once against KCCA 8-0.

Since Bainomugisha’s departure, Abu Wamboya has been the interim coach but reports in the corridors have it that the club will name Joseph Mutyaba as the new coach for the remainder of the season.
