Wakiso Giants head coach Douglas Bamweyana is confident his side can get a good run of results when they return to action on Friday.
The Purple Sharks along with other Uganda Premier League clubs have been out of action for a couple of weeks due to the international break.
First on their plate, the Purple Sharks will be welcoming Mbarara City at the Kabaka Kyabagu Stadium.
Before the break, Wakiso endured a poor run of results, collecting just two wins from their opening 15 games.
Ahead of the Second round resumption, Bamweyana says league break gave them time to rectify their mistakes.
“The league break has given us time to rectify our mistakes and we have used the time well. He said.
“We are now going to go for better results as we move forward.”
When they host Mbarara City, the Purple Sharks will be without Viane Sekajjugo who was earlier slapped with a four-game suspension for bad conduct in the loss to Kitara FC.
Despite missing out on some players, Bamweyana says his team can get the job done.
“Generally the whole team is available. We just have a few players missing with Viane Sekajjugo being suspended for four games following the unfortunate incident in the Kitara FC game.
“We are confident ahead of tomorrow’s game against Mbarara City. We have had time to polish a few issues that we wanted to Polish.
“I feel confident that we should now get a good run of games with more consistent positive results.
“We are also welcoming back some players, Senfuka Rahmat who had a knock in the game against Kitara plus Lawrence Bukenya. Both are fully training but still need some time to get back.”
Having had a poor run in the first round, Bamweyana will be looking forward to having consistent results in order to help the team climb up the table and save his job which is understood to be on the line.
Wakiso are currently 11th on the Uganda Premier League table with 16 points.
