Express FC Finally Confirm Martin Kizza Capture

Uganda Premier League side Express FC have finally confirmed signing winger Martin Kizza.

Kizza has joined the Red Eagles on a one-year deal from South Africa’s Royal Eagles.

This website earlier broke the news of Kizza’s transfer in early February.

Kizza is quoted by the club: “I am happy to join this great historical club where winning silverware is priority, I already feel at home because the players have been so welcoming and I can’t wait to fight for the badge and help the club win silverware this season.”

The left-footed winger left Uganda in 2019 to join then-ABSA Premiership side Free State Stars but after just a single season, he moved to the second division and signed for Royal Eagles FC on a two-year deal.

He joins a list of a few special players who have played for all three VEK clubs in SC Villa, Express FC and KCCA FC.

He started out at KCCA FC in the 2014/15 season before moving to Villa where he spent three seasons.

His addition is a big boost for the Betway sponsored club as they strengthen their bid to a league title chase.

They sit third with 32 points and will open the second round against URA FC at Betway Muteesa II stadium in Wankulukuku.

What Does Martin Kizza Bring On Board?

Blessed with pace and physicality, Martin Kizza will be a menace to defenders in the league.

His aggressiveness down the flanks will earn him a first place in Wasswa Bbosa’s team.

“I have known martin for a while now, he is a hardworking and focused player, he joins us at a crucial time although he has to prove to get into the team, for me he brings speed in attack and creativity as well so he’s a good addition,” said coach Wasswa Bbosa as quoted by the club.

Express FC have the best defence in the league but their title chase will be determined by their scoring rate.

They have scored 22 goals in the first round, 11 and 15 fewer than Vipers and KCCA FC respectively.

They are set to start the season without striker George Ssenkaaba who is still nursing an injury so the burden will be on Eric Kambale and Frank Kalanda to get the goals.

The duo will need all the support from creative department.

Godfrey Lwesibawa, Muzamir Mutyaba, Charles Musiige and now the addition of Kizza makes the creative department tick.

Kizza is deadly in one on one situations thanks to his acceleration but he must work on his deliveries if he is to become a darling at Wankulukuku.
