KIU Titans have made a marquee signing of the season in point guard Faisal Aden.
Aden, born in Somalia before leaving to the States at the age of seven, joins the Kansanga based outfits for a two-year deal.
Aden is the latest addition for KIU Titans, a club that signed Stanley Mugerwa and Denis Balungu among others.
“Joining KIU was a pretty easy decision to make. I have played here and I love visiting Uganda and when I was given a chance to come and play here I took it,” he is quoted by the club media.
“There is not a lot of basketball going on so I’m just happy to be playing again and
KIU seemed to be a good fit.”
He has played in Belgium with Leuven Bears, Golden State Warriors’ affiliate team Santa Cruz Warriors in NBA Development League, Italy’s Virtus Roma, Germany’s Rasta Vechta among others.
Earlier, he had made a name during his college days at Washington State and Hillsborough Community College.
“Fans should expect a lot of buckets and a championship, anything less than that is a season loss in my eyes,” Aden added.
“There’s no pressure playing basketball, it’s just fun. I have played at the highest level with some of the best players in the world so basketball comes natural to me.”
He has the ability to create his own shots and adds another scoring option for Brian Wathum’s side.
