Ssekamatte Stars As Bright Stars Complete Double Over Kitara

Bright Stars eased past Kitara to get their UPL second round campaign off to a good start at Kavumba Recreation Centre.

Samuel Ssekamatte was voted man of the match after bagging a brace while Marvin Joseph scored in between Ssekamate’s two goals.

He put Bright Stars ahead in the 17th minute thanks to an assist from Joseph Akandwanaho.

Marvin Joseph doubled the lead at the stroke of halftime when he received from Janjali Joseph.

Monday Denis converted from the spot to have the deficit for Kitara just after the hour-mark.

Ssekamatte, 10 minutes later, ensured Bright Stars take maximum points with ease thanks to an assist from Simon Ssemayange.

The victory means Bright Stars have completed a league double over Kitara having won the first leg 5-0 in the first round.

Kitara remain bottom of the log with five points, having suffered their third straight loss since beating Wakiso Giants for their maiden top flight win.

Bright Stars who returned to winning ways after closing the first round with a 2-1 loss to SC Villa at home, move to ninth with 20 points.

What Next – Kitara face Kigezi Homeboyz in Uganda Cup before visiting Onduparaka on April 13 in the league. For Bright Stars, the have Paidha Black Angles in Uganda Cup before hosting Onduparaka on April 14 in the league.
