SC Villa will be seeking to make light work of Ndejje University when the two sides meet on Easter Monday in the first leg of the round of 32 of the Stanbic Uganda Cup.

The match will be played at Bombo Barracks ground, live on UBC TV, before the return leg at the Arena of Visions on April 12.

The Jogoos have been in terrific form in the league, having won three games in a row and currently occupy sixth with 28 points after 16 games.

They will be expected to ring a couple of changes to the team but coach Edward Kaziba will ensure that the new looking side is still good enough to get the job done in the first leg as he prefers a good cup run in.

Last season, they were to face Mbarara City at the round of 16 when the tourney was declared null and void due to Covid19.

Prior to that stage, they had eliminated Super Eagles before overcoming Kajjansi United.

They have been eliminated by minnows at the round of 32 – Kiboga Young (2018) and Nkambi Coffee (2019).

They are nine time winners but last won the Championship in 2014/15 season when they beat KCCA FC at Namboole.

This will be the second meeting in recent memory between SC Villa and Ndejje University in Uganda Cup: Joseph Nsubuga scored the only goal as Villa won 1-0 on March 22 2018 in a game that WS played at Betway Muteesa II stadium in Wankulukuku.

Ndejje University on the other hand, were eliminated by Faith, Hope and Love (FHL) FC last season in shootouts.

In 2019, they were ousted by Kansai Plascon.

They have drawn all their three games in FUFA Big League this season – Nyamityobora, Tiles and Terrazo, and Kigezi FC.

Ndejje will bank on Francis Onekalit and Nicholas Luzige to cause Villa all forms of trouble.
