Mutyaba Finally Released On Police Bond

Former Uganda Cranes midfielder Sulaiman Mutyaba has been released from jail.

Mutyaba was taken into custody on Friday afternoon after he was arrested while holding a peaceful demonstration at the Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) headquarters in Mengo.

His released was confirmed by Mutyaba himself via a post on his official Facebook page.

“I was finally released on police bond and will report back on Monday. Want to thank everyone who stood with me all this time. The day for a press conference will communicated as soon as possible. Thanks.” Read the Facebook post.

Mutyaba is being charged with staging an unlawful demonstration and will now report back to Police on Monday.

Before his arrest, he and a group of youths had camped outside the Federation’s headquarters asking FUFA to account for the money that comes in and also pay arrears that are owed to national team players.

Mutyaba also accuses the FUFA President, Moses Magogo and his administration for failing to account for the salaries of Cranes players that come in from the government on a monthly basis.

Recently, Magogo came out to claim that some players have no right to demand for money after “playing sh**y football” at the just concluded CHAN championships in Cameroon.

Mutyaba has also been undergoing a fierce social media and cyber battle with Cranes team manager Patrick Ntege over similar matters.
