Substitute Mukiibi Ali scored the all important goal for Onduparaka FC as they beat Luweero United 1-0 to reach the round of 16 in the Uganda Cup.

Mukiibi, who started on the bench and was only introduced in the second half, scored with just nine minutes to play as the two sides were preparing for shootouts.

The game was initially slated to be played on Friday but was called off due to heavy downpour.

Having drawn goalless in their first leg, the visitors needed to score and win so as to progress.

In the first half, there was literally nothing to write home about with both sides playing cagey football.

After the recess, the home side were reduced to ten men with Muwonge Paulister sent off after a foul on Allan Busobozi.

Playing with a one-man advantage, the visitors piled more pressure and it was just a matter of time before they struck.

On 81 minutes, Mukiibi broke the deadlock to give the hosts the lead after collecting from Joel Jangeyemba.

Victory sees the Caterpillars reach the round of 16 of this year’s Uganda Cup.
