Calvary FC 1-5 Police FC
Uganda Premier League side Police FC smashed Calvary FC 5-1 at the Greenlight Stadium in Arua to qualify for the Uganda Cup round of 16.
Muwadda Mawejje and Herman Waswa both scored a brace each with Mubarak Nsubuga netting the other to give Police FC a 1-10 aggregates in both legs. Asege Jamil was on target for the Big League side on an afternoon they would prefer to forget as soon as possible.
The tie looked to have been decided in the first leg after the Cops hammered the Yumbe based side 5-0 at the Omondi Stadium on Tuesday.
The Cops needed shoot outs to eliminate the same opponents in 2019 but this time they eased through the tie.
The hosts started on high as Jamil scored from the spot in the 12th minutes.
The lead lasted just three minutes as Police equalised through Muwadda Mawejje.
In the 32nd minute, Nsubuga scored his first goal of the season to hand Police FC the lead.
Herman Waswa made it three for the visitors on the hour mark before completing his brace eight minutes later.
Muwadda Mawejje made it 1-5 in the 70th minute to complete a 1-10 aggregates for Abdallah Mubiru’s men.
What next for both teams
On Thursday 15th April Calvary FC will welcome Maroons at the Greenlight Stadium in the FUFA Big League.
Police FC will return to Uganda Premier League action in at home UPDF FC at the Omondi Stadium on Wednesday 14th April.
