Preview – URA’s Title Aspirations Face KCCA Test
URA FC are firmly in the title race after impressing in their opening 16 games of the season.
On 36 points, they sit joint top of the standings alongside early season favourites Vipers SC.
The Tax Collectors have been arguably the best side in the division this campaign as they have been consistent at both ends of the pitch.
They have netted an impressive 25 goals already and shipped in just 12.
The duo of Steven Mukwala and Cromwel Rwothomio has been integral as they have continued to bang in the goals to ensure the team wins games.
Having lost to Express 3-1 in their last game, Sam Simbwa’s side will be desperate to return to winning ways and keep their title aspirations very much alive.
However, coming up against KCCA, they face another side that is also in the title conversation.
The Kasasiro Boys sit six points off the pace but no one can never rule them out until the league is done and dusted.
Under new coach Morley Byekwaso, KCCA have won all their three games, one in the league and the other two in the cup.
The league win was in the 3-0 beating of BUL before the cup double against Nyamityobora and will have boosted KCCA’s confidence ahead of the big clash in Bombo.
With Express FC and Vipers SC in relatively tricky fixtures, KCCA will know that they have a chance to move closer to the top if they can take care of URA.
This will be the 22nd meeting between the two sides since December 2010.
In the previous 21 meetings, URA have won nine, KCCA six with the other six all ending in draws.
URA heads into the game unbeaten in their last four games against KCCA (W3 D1).
KCCA’s last win over URA was back in January 2019 in a 1-0 victory away from home.
