Basketball Players Dikong, Ajak Open Restaurant In Kansanga

National Basketball Players David ‘Dikong’ Deng (Nam Blazers) and his brother Ajak Samuel Garang (Ndejje Angels) have moved to find financial stability outside the game.

The two have joined hands to open up a new restaurant, named Kudual Cafe and restaurant, at UK Mall in Kansanga.

The restaurant, majorly for South Sudanese foods, will help the brothers earn a living as they start early plans after basketball.

This, officially opens on Friday, April 16 and free food will be served to the customers and friends who grace the function on the day.

“We want to reach out to our communities through this programme in the near future,” Dikong, a former UCU Canons forward, told The-SportsNation.

“We want to inspire the young generation through doing and making things visibly seen. We would like our Ugandan friends to come and feel the south Sudanese foods at our restaurant, and I promise they will like it.”

Dikong says that they have used personal savings and family support to come up with the initiative.

He advised: “If you are playing Basketball as a student athlete, you need to get the papers, it’s the best thing you can do for your life and make friendships, the connections and prepare yourself for life after Basketball.”

“We can’t be paid that much here in Uganda to start becoming professionals, but papers are there to get you a decent job in the future.”

Many athletes have become paupers after the game due to poor planning during their active days, among other things.
