URA FC continued their hunt for a first league title since 2011 thanks to a convincing 3-1 victory over BUL FC on Friday.

Brian Majwega, Shafiq Kagimu and Cromwel Rwothomio struck for the Tax Collectors while Walter Ochora was on target for BUL.

The Tax Collectors who have been in inspired form all season, took the lead on 30 minutes through Majwega who curled a free kick into the back of the net after Brian Nkuubi was fouled outside the visitors area.

Majwega would turn into a villain of sorts, two minutes later as it was he who conceded the corner that resulted into Ochora’s headed leveller.

There were some temporary concerns for the Tax Collectors as they failed to restore their lead before halftime.

However, 12 minutes after the recess, Kagimu netted his second goal in as many games to put URA on course for another victory.

With 17 minutes to play, Dada Ibrahim robed BUL custodian Sanon Mulabi of the ball before squaring it for Rwothomio to poke into an empty net and put the game beyond the visitors.

The victory is URA’s 8th in their last nine games and it sees them maintain second spot on the standings.

Sam Simbwa’s side have 42 points, level with leaders Vipers SC but with an inferior goal difference.

For BUL, they stay in 10th with 21 points from 17 games.

In their next fixtures, BUL are at home to UPDF FC on Tuesday while URA travels away to SC Villa the following day.
