Uganda Martyrs edged Makerere University WFC as this year’s FUFA Women Super League got underway at the Technical Centre in Njeru.
Kevin Nakachwa scored the only goal of the game as the Lubaga-based team got off to a perfect start.
Nakachwa converted from the spot in the 70th minute after Stellah Namisango was judged to have tripped Anita Namata in the area.
Latifah Nakasi had a chance to put Uganda Martyrs in an early lead but shot wide while Catherine Nagadya fluffed his opportunity as well.
For She Mak, Rebecca Nakasato was kept out by goalkeeper Daphine Nyayenga while Amina Nababi wasted her keeper-to-beat chance when she shot over the bar.
