Kyetume Beat Busoga United To Record Good Start At New Home

Kyetume FC registered a perfect start at their new home, Nakisunga Ssaza Ground, thanks to a 1-0 win over Busoga United 1-0 in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.

This was the Slaughters first home game at Nakisunga since joining too flight.

They hosted at FUFA Technical centre in Njeru in the first round of this ongoing season.

Richard Matovu scored the all important goal for Jackson Mayanja’s side to walk away with all points.

They could have won by a decent margin if Mustafa Mujuzi converted his penalty kick after Latif Kiyemba was brought down in the forbidden area.

Ezra Bida missed a keeper to beat chance, with his effort kept out by Busoga United shot stopper Michael Nantamu.

Kiyemba’s header went wide off Bida’s corner as the first half ended goalless.

In the 53rd minute, defender Matovu broke the deadlock with his powerful left shot going straight into the back of the net.

Busoga United thought they had got a chance to level matters in added time but their penalty appeal was waived by referee Semele.

Victory sees Kyetume move to 16 points but remain unmoved in the 14thplace after 19 games.

For Busoga United, they remain in the 12th place with 20 points after 19 games.
