Onduparaka FC 2-3 MYDA FC
MYDA FC defied odds to pick maximum points off hosts Onduparaka in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.
The game played at Greenlight Stadium, produced two red cards, one to each team, as the minnows ran away with a 3-2 victory.
Eric Mutebi scored a brace and a late goal from Peter Mutebi ensured MYDA record their second league win since joining top flight.
First half goals from Moses Okot and Jamal Malish were not enough for Joseph Mutyaba’s side.
With 16 minutes off the clock, Midfielder Okot put hosts in the lead from the penalty mark after Allan Busoboozi was fouled in the box.
Nine minutes later, Eric Mutebi leveled matters for the visitors from the penalty mark after Mutebi was brought down in the box by Gibson Adinho.
With four minutes added in the first 45, Malish restored the lead for the hosts.
MYDA FC were reduced to ten men in the 77th minute after defender Brandy Lojum was sent off for his second bookable offence on Rashid Okocha.
With just 10 minutes to the final whistle, Mutebi scored from the penalty mark again to level the tie after Gasper Adriko foul on Amos Kirya.
In the 88th minute, Mutebi gave the visitors the lead for MYDA to claim a rare win.
Onduparaka FC goal scorer Malish wasn’t able to complete the game as he was red carded in the 94th minute.
MYDA FC climb 15th on the Uganda Premier League table with nine points while Onduparaka FC drop to 10th with 24 points garnered from 19 games played.
Onduparaka FC host KCCA FC on matchday 20 while MYDA FC visit Police FC.
