Mbale Heroes Fined For Violating COVID-19 Rules

FUFA Big League side Mbale Heroes have been penalized by FUFA Competitions Disciplinary Panel for violating the COVID-19 regulations by allowing fans into the stadium without authorisation.

It is understood that Mbale Heroes have consistently allowed fans who were not wearing face masks into the stadium for their Big League games.

As a consequence, they have been fined UGX 500, 000 and it is to be paid to the FUFA account and proof of the same availed to the panel.

In case Mbale Heroes fails to heed, the CDP shall be constrained to take stronger Discipline measures against all parties.

The panel also announced that Mbale Heroes players, Olega Brian and Ayella Joel have been handed a two match ban in the Big League with immediate effect.

This means that the two will miss the remaining games in the first round against Black Power FC and Kataka FC.

Farenzi Jamaldine has also been cautioned against acts of misconduct and he is implored to guide his team to follow the rules and regulations.

The Mbale based club sits 6th in the Big League Elgon group with 6 points having won 1 match, drawn 3 and lost once in 5 matches. They have scored and conceded 3 goals each and have zero Goal difference.

On the Match-day 5, the Hussein Kheri coached side defeated promotion hopefuls Maroons 1-0 at Luzira prisons ground after drawing 1-1 at home to Arua Hill SC at the Mbale Municipal ground.

In their next contest, Mbale Heroes host Black Power on Thursday 22nd April before facing Kataka FC in the Mbale derby on Sunday 25th in their last game of the first round.
