Soltilo Bright Stars and URA FC played to a goalless draw in a Uganda Premier League game played at Kavumba recreation Grounds in Wakiso on Saturday.

In a highly contested game, there was nothing that could separate the two sides despite creating several goal scoring chances.

Coming into this game, the Tax Collectors needed any positive result to leapfrog Vipers at the top of the table after the Venoms had lost their game against Express the day before.

The Sam Simbwa coached side came close to scoring in the 31st minute but Sseruyidde Moses’ shot went straight into the arms of goal keeper Tamale Simon.

Seven minutes into the second half, Marvin Joseph found space outside the area but his shot just went wide.

Moments later, Bright Stars goal keeper Tamale was at full stretch saving Kagimu Shafik’s effort for a corner.

The best chance for the home side came in the 65 the minute but defender Hudu Mulikyi had a timely block to clear the ball off the line after Alionzi Nafian was beaten.

The result sees URA move to the top with 44 points, one above second placed Vipers SC.

For Bright Stars, they move to the 6th place with 30 points after 20 games.
