Kibowa Earns Point For UPDF At Busoga United

Nothing could seperate Busoga United and UPDF FC as both sides settled for a point in a StarTimes Uganda Premier League game played at FUFA Technical Center Njeru.

UPDF FC will have goalkeeper Eric Kibowa to thank as the visitors managed to leave Jinja with a point.

Shaka Ssozi had a good chance to open scores when he collected from Jerome Kirya but his tap in was saved by goalkeeper Kibowa.

The goalkeeper was once again alert to deny Kirya’s long range effort.

Kibowa once again pulled out a brilliant save to stop winger Ivan Wani who had a goal at his mercy.

Busoga United will also rue missed chances as well, with Franco Onen Balabala directing his free header an nches wide.

Isma Mugulusi came close but his effort was blocked while Paul Ssekulima missed a tap in.

The Army side had Brian Kayanja fire wide from close range after receiving from Dickens Okwir for a side that barely created an open chance.

Busoga United are now 12th on the log with 24 points as UPDF move to 6th with 32 points.

What next for both sides – Busoga United next game is on 8th May away to Kitara FC at Masindi Municipal ground in the Uganda Premier League as UPDF will return to action against Vipers in the double header on 1st May at Bombo Military stadium before traveling to Kitende on 3rd May in the Uganda Cup round of 16.

UPDF FC’s next fixture in the Uganda Premier League will be on 7th May against Wakiso Giants at the Kabaka Kyabaggu stadium.
