David Bagoole scored his first league goal in Vipers shirt as the Venoms eased past struggling MYDA FC.
Yunus Ssentamu scored a brace and Karim Watambala added another strike to see Vipers record a 4-0 win at King George IV Stadium in Tororo.
Fred Kajoba’s side remain second with 46 points, one below leaders URA FC after 22 games.
The victory is the first for Vipers in three games having lost 1-0 to Express on the back of a goalless draw against Wakiso Giants.
The hosts will have goalkeeper Andrew Ssekandi to thank after the shot stopper denied Ssentamu’s header and later tipped Watambala’s goal bound effort over the crossbar.
Vipers got off the mark with Ssentamu scoring from the spot after the striker was tripped inside the area, a decision that was highly contested by the home side.
Two minutes after Lawrence Tezikya missed a goalkeeper-to-beat, Watambala doubled the lead with a simple finish off Ibrahim Orit’s assist.
Bagoole’s strike came at the start of the second stanza, with the former Busoga United midfielder showing composure in his control before bulging the net.
Ssentamu got his brace five minutes after the hour-mark. He tapped home from close range thanks to a wonderful delivery from Paul Willa.
MYDA FC barely created chances in both halves, coming close from a freekick which Eric Mutebi sent wide of the uprights.
MYDA, who lost the reverse fixture 7-0 in Kitende, remain second from the bottom with nine points.
