Kigezi Home Boyz earned a first leg advantage in the round of 32 of the Uganda Cup after they beat Kitara FC by 4-2 at Kavumba.

Dickson Niwamanya grabbed a hat trick on the day while Rogers Tabule scored the other goal to see that the Gorillas took advantage on the day.

Maxwell Owadigi and Kizito Zakayo scored for the home side.

The two sides meet again for the second leg on Sunday 2nd May with Kigezi hosting it at the Kabale Municipal Stadium.

The result adds on Kitara’s misery who have had a poor run of results in the top flight since promotion, registering just two wins from 21 games and sit at the bottom.

This fixture was initially scheduled on Tuesday 6th April 2021 but was called off following a miscommunication in the match venue.

The hosts Kitara and the match officials were at Masindi Municipal Stadium while Kigezi Homeboyz went to Kavumba Recreation Ground, the initial announced venue.

The winner between the two teams will face BUL FC in the round of 16 who already progressed.
