Preview – Venoms Out To Complete UPDF Task
Vipers SC will be out to seal their spot in the Uganda Cup last 8 when they host UPDF at Kitende on Monday.
Fred Kajoba’s side lead 3-1 from the first leg and will be overwhelmingly favourites to go through.
Sitting second in the league, the Venoms are very much eyeing a double this season.
This contest will also help to lift the home side’s confidence especially as they seek a swift return to winning ways having failed to score and win at the St Mary’s Stadium in their last two games against Wakiso Giants FC and Express FC.
Vipers thumped Busoga United 5-1 over two legs in the last 32.
For UPDF, they will be hoping for an unlikely upset on Monday.
Having lost the first leg, they will know it will take a miracle of sorts to reach the next round.
They overcame Arua Hill SC 3-2 on aggregate to reach the last 16.
This will be the fourth meeting between the two sides this season.
Vipers have the upper hand having won all meetings this campaign.
The Venoms have not lost to UPDF in any of their past five fixtures (W4 D1).
The last time they met at Kitende, Vipers won 1-0 in a game that also saw IPDF have two players sent off.
