Byekwaso To Handle Uganda At CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup

FUFA has confirmed Morley Byekwaso as the coach for Uganda team that will take part at this year’s CECAFA senior Challenge Cup.

CECAFA Executive passed that the 2021 Championship will be for players falling in the Under-23 category.

FUFA has stated that Uganda’s team to CECAFA will be predominantly the U-20 team that reached the final of the AFCON U20 in Mauritania.

“Morley Byekwaso will be the Head coach of the Uganda U-23 team during the 2021 CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup in Ethiopia,” FUFA has stated.

Byekwaso will be assisted by Simeon Masaba (Assistant Coach), Stephen Kigundu (Goalkeepers’ Coach) and Ivan Ssewanyana (Physiotherapist).

He has had stints at Sports Club Victoria University and Simba.

Ethiopia will host the tournament in the town of Bahir Dar between July 3-18th.

Uganda defeated Eritrea 3-0 to lift the 2019 CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup when it was last played, their 15th record extending title.
