First half goals from Richard Wandyaka and Musa Esenu gave BUL FC a slim Uganda Cup first-leg advantage over Big league side Kigezi Homeboyz at the Kyabazinga Stadium in Bugembe on Wednesday.

Lubowa Denis scored what may turn out to be an important away goal for the visitors, from the penalty spot.

As early as the 5th minute, Wandyaka broke the dead-lock for the Eastern Giants as reward for their early pressure.

In the 22nd minute Esenu doubled the lead for the home side to put them on their way to victory.

Two minutes later Lubowa pulled one back for the visitors who looked unfazed by the occasion.

BUL ended the half time on top but the third goal eluded them.

In the second half, Robert Mukongotya had a sight at goal from a free kick but his effort missed by just inches.

In the end, BUL settled for the slender one-goal advantage that they take into the second leg.

The two will meet again in the second leg at the Kabale Municipal Stadium.
