The head coach of Uganda’s National Beach Soccer team, the Sand Cranes-Salim Jamal Muwonge has named a provisional squad of 16 players to start preparations ahead of the 2021 Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations in Senegal.
The summoned players will commence training on Friday 7th May at the Fufa Technical Centre in Njeru.
Muwonge is expected to trim the squad to 12 players who will set off with the rest of the contingent on 18th May to Senegal.
The tournament will to take place between 23rd to 29th May 2021 in the City of Saly and this will be the 10th edition of the event.
The 2020 Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations tournament was initially meant to take place last year but was postponed to 2021 due to the outbreak of the deadly COVID-19 pandemic.
Uganda reached the final tournament after Ghana, their hurdle in the final qualifying bend, withdrew.
