Shooting Guard Ritah Imanishimwe returned to court 148 days since giving birth to twins in December last year.

Imanishimwe marked her cameo as JKL Lady Dolphins squeezed past her former team UCU Lady Canons at the Mukono University on Saturday.

The five-time league winner was handed nine minutes, shot 2 of 3 from the field and scored five points on the day.

JKL were on course for a rollercoaster win thanks to a 21-point lead but the Canons staged a comeback inspired by a nine-point run to force the game in overtime.

But the Lady Dolphins showed their star power thereafter before topping a four-point game in a repeat of last year’s final.

Brenda Ekone led the way with 22 points, Hope Akello and Zainah Lokwameri added 15 and 13 each for the two-time defending champions.

Hajara Najjuko managed 15 points for the University side, Rhoda Naggita contributed 12 and Ruth Letaru added 11 in a losing effort.

Elsewhere, Nam Blazers returned to winning ways with a 65-51 win over struggling Falcons, City Oilers outlasted UPDF Tomahawks while JKL Dolphins encounter with UCU Canons in the Men’s category was interrupted by rain and hence postponed to a later date.
