Preview – A First Of Seven Finals For MYDA

MYDA FC have struggled in their maiden top-flight campaign and there are no indications that that is about to change soon.

In their opening 23 games, the Tororo based side have managed only two victories and five draws with the other 16 games all ending in defeats.

Heading into the last seven games of the season, MYDA are second from bottom and sit a reasonable 15 points away from safety.

With only 21 points to play for, they know they need to win atleast five of those seven games to stand any chance of staying up.

A return home would ideally be a welcome sight for anyother side but that can not be said of MYDA as they are the only team yet to win a game at home.

In their opening 11 games in Tororo, they have lost eight and drawn the other three. In the process, they have conceded 32 goals, a league high.

The only positive for MYDA, so far, has been their ability to score goals as they have netted 26 times to date, an average of over a goal per game.

They are a side that has a goal in them and they will be confident that they will score on Friday and hope that Andrew Ssekandi who is expected to start ahead of Isaac Osikol in between the sticks, can keep a clean sheet as they seek to register a first home victory.

Against Busoga, they face a side that will also want to win the game and pull away from a potential relegation scrap.

The Students currently sit in 13th, just six points away from the drop zone.

Their recent form has been average as they have drawn all their past three league games including a 1-1 stalemate at home to Wakiso Giants FC in their last game.

Having conceded late to 10-man Wakiso and threw away all three points, Abby Kikomeko’s side will be desperate for victory against one of the two whipping Boys of the division.

Match stats

This will be the second-ever meeting between the two sides.

The first that was played on March 09, ended in a 1-0 victory for Busoga United at Njeru.
