Namataka’s Second Half Double Lifts Kataka She Over Town View

Sunday, May 16
*Bunyaruguru 0-1 Rines
*Town View 2-4 Kataka She

Kataka She picked their first win of the ongoing FUFA Women Elite League thanks to a 4-2 win against Town View on Sunday.

Esther Namataka will be the one to thank after her second half brace handed the side maximum points.

With the score 2-2 in the 71st minute, a goalkick was glanced forward with a header in the middle of the park for Namataka to race onto it. She beat the defenders with pace before neatly slotting home.

The pint-sized forward scored her second seven minutes later when she beat Halima Babirye with exquisite skill to find her way into the area to poke in the second past an onrushing goalkeeper.

Town View had fought back earlier twice in the first half with Saluwa Nakayima and Elizabeth Anyango canceling out strikes from Catherine Namata and Shakira Nandundu.

Kataka She move second with three points from two games having lost 1-0 to Bunyaruguru on Saturday.

Town View are left packing having stayed rooted at the bottom without a point. They lost their opener 3-1 against Rhines and have conceded 7 goals in two games.

The group will take a rest on Monday before Tuesday’s last group games.

Tuesday:
*Rines Vs Kataka
*Bunyaruguru Vs Town View
