Sunday 16th May
Paidha Black Angels 1-0 Maroons
Blacks Power 1-1 Arua Hill SC
Aruwa Patrick’s 27th minute goal gave Paidha Black Angels FC their first win of the season as they beat Maroons FC at the Bar Okoro stadium on Sunday.
This was also Paidha’s first goal from open play after scoring 3 from the spot in the first round.
Maroons are now winless in their last 6 games, four of which are in the league while two in the Uganda Cup.
The hosts started on a high, in search for the opener, but Pithua Floribert shot wide of the mark.
In the 27th minutes, Aruwa broke the deadlock for Paidha with a powerful header from defender Omara Walter’s cross.
At the stroke of halftime, the hosts were forced to make a substitution with Omara taken off injured and replaced by Cheka Sabiri.
The best chance for Maroons to equalise fell to Fred Amaku who shot wide while one-on-one with goalkeeper Jonathan Oyirworth.
The results sees Paidha Black Angels remain bottom of the Elgon group with 4 points from 8 matches.
Maroons are still 7th with seven points from eight games.
