Police Football Club head coach Abdallah Mubiru says his team is well prepared and eager to earn maximum points as the Cops welcome the SC Villa at the Omondi Stadium on Wednesday.
Police have gone three league games without victory and a win against Villa who have also lost back-to-back fixtures will be great for Mubiru’s side
“Its another tough game but we are prepared and looking forward to getting positive results. Abdallah Mubiru told the club media.
“We have had quite a number of games where we have under-performed with but I think we’ve tried rectifying our mistakes and looking forward to improving our performance.”
Police have had injury issues in the last few weeks and will continue missing several key players on Wednesday.
Johnson Odongo, Samuel Kayongo, Derrick Kakooza and Frank Tumwesigye are all injured and expected not to feature.
Tony Mawejje has also been struggling with fitness issues but likely to return at the heart of the midfield.
Despite the list of absentees, Mubiru is sure the players available will get the job done.
“As in the previous game, we are to miss some of our key players but we welcome back captain Tonny Mawejje whom I think will play a big part much as he isn’t fully fit.
“The rest of the guys are ready and committed to do us a great job.”
Police are currently sixth on the Uganda Premier League table with 38 points from 24 league games.
The Cops needed Henry Kisekka’s second half strike to draw with Villa in the reserve fixture at Bombo.
