Preview: Vipers Need Immediate Response

Vipers will be going all out to bounce back when they visit a tricky Bright Stars side at Kavumba Recreational centre.

The Venoms come into this one with the wounds of Mbarara City game still fresh – The side squandered a two-goal halftime lead to fall 2-3 at Kitende.

That second half collapse left a bitter test for Fred Kajoba who will be targeting amends against his former side.

They have a couple of first team players returning and Vipers will fancy themselves having won the first round tie 2-0 at Kitende thanks to Caesar Manzoki and Jamil Kalisa goals.

In fact, Vipers has never lost to Bright Stars! Seven wins and as many draws from 14 league meetings shows the report card.

Vipers sit two points below new leaders Express and just one behind second-placed URA, and the title will all but slid away if they fail to gather maximum points today.

Their home form has seen them go four games without a win but they have won four straight games on the road since that loss to URA in Ndejje.

The hosts on the other hand, are in form of their life. They are enjoying a 10-game unbeaten run!

That impressive record – Seven wins and three draws – that has seen them climb to fifth with 41 points, has been built on tenacity, hard work and also incredible goals from Kayongo Ssekamatte.

Bright Stars who drew goalless away to Onduparaka in their last game, have picked remarkable results against the so called giants this season that include wins over Express and KCCA, and will seek to end that Vipers once and for all.
