Express FC head Coach Wasswa Bbosa says he is happy his side stayed top after match-day 26.
He made the remarks after his sides earned a comfortable 4-0 victory against Kitara FC on Match day 26 at the Wankulukuku Stadium to ensure they will head into the final four games top of the standings.
A brace by Eric Kambale and a goal each from Arthur Kiggundu and substitute Frank Kalanda did the trick for the Red Eagles who move to 58 points for the season, two ahead of second-placed Vipers SC.
Speaking after the final whistle on Friday, Bbosa said that it was good his side managed to win.
“We have managed to win our game in the league as we head into a break for the Uganda Cup.
“It’s good that we have maintained our leadership at the top.”
On a day they scored four, Bbosa was left concerned with the speed at which they executed.
“Despite winning, we were slow due to the so many games coming thick and fast and playing on different surfaces as well.
“The goals we scored will however help push us forward.”
Next up for Express will be a Uganda Cup quarter final tie against KCCA FC.
They host the first leg at Wankulukuku and Bbosa says they need victory so as to ensure they progress to the next round.
“Now we are focusing on our next cup game against KCCA so that we can win and progress to the next round.”
With four games left in the league, Express needs to win their remaining games in order to secure this year’s league title.
