The Buganda Regional Football Association has confirmed the date for the 2020 season kick-off.
The development was confirmed during the meeting chaired by the Region’s newly elected Chairman Andrew Kaweesa at the New Life Hotel in Mengo.
It was decided that the league will start on June 21st and end on July 4th, with promotional play off final scheduled for July 8th.
In the meeting, it was also confirmed that Mukono and Wakiso will host the two groups with the venues not yet confirmed.
The fixtures will be released on June 7th after the clubs have finished club licensing on 2nd June. UGX 1.3 million will be paid by the teams for registration and Match Officials.
Earlier this week it was confirmed that Regional league will be played in a single leg format of two groups of Katonga and Ssezibwa.
Katonga is made up of 12 teams while Ssezibwa has 11 teams.
Katonga Group is comprised of Buwambo United, Synergy, Kajjansi United, Lukaya TC, Young Simba, Kiyinda Boys, Masaka City, Busiro United, Entebbe FC, Kampala University Masaka, Kakiri TC and Standard High School Zzana.
While Ssezibwa has Kampala University, Kira United, Manyangwa, Lugazi Municipal, Buikwe Red Stars, Free stars, Busuula FC, Uganda Martyrs FC, Buteema Soccer Masters, Simba, Seeta United, Lugazi Nabugabo and Kiwanga United.
Group winners will face off in the promotion playoffs and the overall champion will face the winner in the Kampala Regional league for a place in the Big League.
