Uganda Premier League
SC Villa 1-0 Kyetume FC
Bombo Military Barracks Stadium
Saturday, May 22
Veteran striker Robert Ssentongo missed a late penalty with seven minutes to play as Kyetume FC lost 1-0 away to SC Villa on Saturday.
Ssentongo failed to score what would have been an equalizer as his effort was saved by Martin Ssenkooto in the Villa goal after Geoffrey Wasswa had fouled Baker Buyala inside the area.
Earlier, Muhammed Ssenoga had put the hosts ahead on 22 minutes, converting from close range after he was set-up by Saddam Masereka.
Victory is Villa’s first in 10 league games and just their 5th at home all season.
The three points take the Jogoos to 36 for the campaign and they now climb into 7th spot on the log.
For Kyetume, the loss is a massive blow to their chances of surviving relegation this season.
They stay on 23 points for the season, three adrift of safety with only four games to play.
What Next For Both Sides
Villa will return to action in the Uganda Cup where they take on Vipers SC in the last 8. The first leg is at Bombo on June 2nd.
In the League, they will travel away to UPDF FC on Friday, June 18, a day after Kyetume hosts Mbarara City FC at Nakisunga.
