Group A, in which Uganda is drawn, has now got three teams after the other (Democratic Republic of Congo) withdrew from the final tournament, hence calling for rescheduling of the fixture.
Ahead of their first game on Sunday, Salim Muwonge the head coach for Sand Cranes, says his side is ready for the first game and hoping for a better start.
“The boys are in good shape, we trained two days in Senegal and they are coping up with the weather conditions. Muwonge said.
“We are ready for our opening game against Senegal and hoping for good results.
“We have combination play and we know the partnership with the boys. This is a game of defenders and forwards so they can combine and play the game.”
After their first game, the Sand Cranes will finish up their group fixtures against Tanzania on Monday, May 24.
To reach the final tournament, Uganda went through without kicking a ball after Ghana, their hurdle in the final qualifying bend, withdrew.
