AFCON Beach Soccer: Sand Cranes See Off Tanzania To Register First Victory

The Uganda National Men’s Beach Soccer team, the Sand Cranes defeated Tanzania 4-3 to earn their first victory at the ongoing 2021 Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Saly, Senegal.

This was Uganda’s second game after losing 5-1 to hosts-Senegal on Sunday.

Going into the game, the Sand Cranes knew that only victory would see them stand any chance of making the knock-out stages.

Kawawulo Isma, who also scored against Senegal, helped himself to a brace on Monday with Simbwa Swaleh and Wasswa Emmanuel scoring the other goals.

Jarup Rajab Juma scored a brace for Tanzania while Stephanie Wallis struck the other goal.

Uganda will now wait for the final group game between Senegal and Tanzania on Wednesday to know whether they have made it to the last four.

Uganda are in group A together with hosts Senegal and Tanzania, with the other team Dr. Congo having withdrawn from the tournament.
