Ugandan Quartet Braced For Diamond League In Doha

Four Uganda Athletes Peruth Chemutai, Winnie Nanyondo, Ronald Musagala and Albert Chemutai will be in action at the Qatar Sports Club in the Doha Diamond League.

This will be the second meeting after the 2021 Wanda Diamond League, which will have 14 meetings, kicked off with Gateshead last Sunday (May 23).

Winnie Nanyondo who came seventh in Ostrava over 1500m, will be competing in a tough 800m field that has defending champion Faith Kipyegon from Kenya who won the distance last year when she clocked 1:57.68. Ethiopia’s Alemu Habitam is the other tough competitor.

Peruth Chemutai will compete in the 3000m Steeplechase Women alongside favourite Beatrice Chepkoech.

Ronald Musagala is in the 1500m field that has world champion Timothy Cheruiyot and Ethiopia’s Samuel Tefera.

Albert Chemutai is in the 3000m Steeplechase alongside the likes of Kenyan Moses Kibet, Ethiopian Tadese Takele.
