Preview – BUL Out To Complete Task Against Defending Champions

BUL will take a 2-0 lead into the Uganda Cup second leg against Proline hoping to get the job done on Monday.

The Jinja based side were convincing in the first leg away from home and returning to their own venue in Bugembe, they will feel confident of making it to the semi finals of the competition.

After a change in coaching, they struggled to get going at the start but are slowly making the transition.

Under the guidance of Alex Isabirye, BUL have won all of their last three games in all competitions.

The cup has already seen them take care of two Big League sides in Black Powers FC and Kigezi Home Boyz.

At home, they have defeated both Black Powers and Kigezi and they will be favourites to make it three wins on the trot in Bugembe.

For Proline, they are seeking for a result that can rejuvenate their season.

The Lugogo based side who started the campaign in good form have been struggling of late and find themselves on the brink of elimination from the cup and in the league, they sit third in the Rwenzori group, six points behind leaders Tooro United FC.

Coming up against a two-goal deficit away to a side they have never defeated on the road is a daunting task but they will seek inspiration from their victory away to Mbale Heroes in the last 16.

Proline who are still the defending champion having won the cup in 2019 before last year’s edition was cancelled, eliminated Uganda Premier League side MYDA FC from the competition at the round of 32.

Match Stats

This will be the 14th meeting between the two sides since November 2011.

BUL have been dominant in this fixture in the past, winning eight, losing just twice and drawing the other three.

Proline have never won a fixture away to BUL in any of their six travels to Jinja, losing three and drawing as many times.

BUL won the first leg at Lugogo 2-0.
