The FUFA Women Elite League is at its closing stages as the semi finals of the tournament will unfold on Tuesday at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru.

Four teams will be battling it out for the two finals’ slots and a chance to win the competition.

The first game of the day will see Bunyaruguru Girls taking on Rines WFC at 9am.

This fixture pits two sides that were in the same group (B) earlier in the competition.

When they met first, Rines beat Bunyaruguru Girls 1-0, thanks to Peace Aloyo’s 70th minute strike that ensured the former finished as group leaders with nine points.

Ahead of their semi final Bright Nyanzi, head Coach of Rines, says their major aim is getting promoted to the super League.

“We came with an aim of climbing five steps that is three group games then the quarters, semis plus reaching the finals so as to fulfil our goal of being promoted to the Super League.”

To reach the semi finals, Bunyaruguru Girls took care of Kings of Kings while Rines WFC eliminated Dynamic SS Jjeza on penalties.

In the other semi final, Wakiso Hills will take on She Maroons at 12pm.

She Maroons have been outstanding so far and will be hoping to continue down the same road.

Ahead of their semi-finals game, head coach Cida Alex Olowo says that he respects Wakiso Hills for reaching the semis.

“We respect Wakiso Hills and the fact that they have qualified for the semi finals they are a good side. Olowo said.

“But we are also a good side and we come with confidence. We shall attack them and it will be a good game. Our target is to qualify to the super League.”

Millicent Namwembe will be the lady to watch for She Maroons as she is the current top scorer with five goals already to her name.

To reach the semi finals ,Wakiso Hills beat Amuria High School by 1-0 while She Maroons were 3-1 victors over Ajax Queens.

The finals for this year’s tournament are slated to take place on Thursday, June 3.0
