Our Attention Now Shifts Back To The League – Bbosa

Express FC head coach Wasswa Bbosa says that his side’s focus will now shift back to the league.

Bbosa made the remarks after Express FC drew 1-1 against KCCA on Friday at Lugogo, a result which ensured the Red Eagles progressed to the semi finals of the Uganda Cup on away goals having drawn goalless in the first leg.

While speaking in his post-match interview, the former SC Villa and Tooro United coach noted that the win was so important especially coming against a strong team.

“The win is so important on our side. Bbosa noted.

“We have always faced big teams in the Uganda cup, teams that are strong.

“KCCA is another one, a strong team and with good coaches and players.”

Express FC are on course to winning the league and cup double this season.

The Red Eagles sit top of the league and hold a one-point advantage over second placed URA FC with just four games to play

After sealing a semi final spot, Bbosa says his side will shift their attention back to the league.

“We managed to qualify for the semi final and now we are looking at another thing.

“The Uganda Cup has now paused so we shall set our sight the Uganda Premier League for now.

“By the time it (Uganda Cup) returns, we shall have known our next opponents and then we start preparing for them as well.”

Express came into Friday’s game with several absentees.

The may concern was about Eric Kambale, their top scorer who is currently believed to be self-isolating after catching COVID-19.

With Kambale out, one wondered where the goals would come from and up stepped mid-season signing Kizza.

After the game, Kizza could not hide his delight to have scored and seen his side seal a semi final spot.

“Am very happy and we are all happy as team.

“I thank the technical team, everyone at the club who helped us prepare for this game.

“It was 0-0 at home but we knew we had to come away and score a goal.

“Unfortunately, they scored first but we concentrated and we knew we would score.”

“When the moment came I stepped up and scored. I’m very happy to help the team go to the next level.”

Express will have a few weeks off before returning to competitive action in the UPL away to Wakiso Giants FC on June 20th.
