Express FC pair of striker Eric Kambale and head coach Wasswa Bbosa have been nominated in the Uganda Premier League awards for the month of May.
Kambale is in the category of Player of the Month alonside URA FC’s Steven Mukwala and Viane Ssekajugo of Wakiso Giants FC.
Kambale has been in scintillating form in the past month, scoring eight goals in five games including a hat-trick against Kyetume FC and a brace at home to Kitara FC.
His main competition is expected to come in form Ssekajugo who was also in red-hot form in May.
The Onduparaka sharp-shooter netted six goals in five matches.
For Mukwala, he scored four goals in the five games URA played last month.
On the other hand, Bbosa will come up against URA FC tactician Sam Simbwa and Wakiso Giants’s Douglas Bamweyana.
Bbosa’s Express registered a 100% record in May, winning all five games they played.
For Simbwa, he led URA to three victories, a draw and a loss in the same month.
Bamweyana’s Wakiso won four and drew once in May with the highlight being the 7-2 demolition of Kitara FC at the Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium.
Bright Stars duo of striker Samuel Ssekamate and coach Baker Mbowa were crowned the player and coach of March.
The winners of this award which is handed out every month, work away with a plaque and cash prize of UGX 1M.
