Uganda Cranes midfielder Taddeo Lwanga has predicted a tougher encounter against Bafana Bafana in an upcoming friendly in South Africa due June 10.

The Cranes have their last training on Monday before departure at 8pm.

Lwanga trained with the team on Sunday and the Simba midfielder revealed how big an honour is to represent your country.

“It is always an honour to represent my nation and I have started my training with the team. Whatever I have seen, guys are in good moods, everyone wants to play, the competition is there as the coach tries to build the team,” said Lwanga.

Despite being already in the national team set up, Lwanga says that it calls for hard work and determination in order to get playing time.

“Here at the national team, it’s always about hard work and determination because you are representing over 40 million people, so you must give your all.

“For us who have been here we have to up our game give 100 per cent, every time we are given a chance.”

Ahead of the friendly against South Africa, the former Vipers Captain added: “In the friendly, we expect a very hard game because we are playing away from home but we shall do our best and get a good result.”

The Simba midfielder also hinted that he wants to play outside the African continent.

“I want to improve my self, every time I step on the pitch, in trainings, so that I go on a higher note and my final destination is not playing in Tanzania, I want to play outside the continent.”

His presence at the National team is a huge boost as he brings in experience to a fairly young squad that was summoned.
