Federation of Uganda Football Association has rescheduled the matchday 13 games, its official.
This, is according to the circular written to FUFA Big League club CEOs by FUFA competitions Director Aisha Nalule dated 7th June 2020.
The matches that were initially scheduled for Thursday 10th
June 2020 have been brought forward by just a day to Wednesday 9th June.
The fixtures were adjusted following the president’s directive of suspending inter districts travels.
Museveni who gave greenlight to Sports to continue operating but under strict observance of SOPs, also banned public transport between and across district for 42 days effective June 10.
FUFA thought it wise to play the matchday 13 games just a day before the President’s directive is made effective as they look for a way forward in the coming days.
Letter from FUFA reads in part:
“Following the President’s directive of suspending inter district travels, this is to inform you that the StarTimes FUFA Big League fixtures for match Day 13 which were supposed to be played on 10th June 2021 have been rescheduled to Wednesday 9th June 2021.
“It’s our sincere hope that you appreciate the intentions of these changes. All inconvenience are highly regretted.”
Big League, composed of Elgon and Rwenzori groups, is two games away from conclusion before the second and third teams in each group face off in the playoffs for a spot in the Uganda Premier League.
The playoffs will be played on Friday 18th June in a double header and the final will be decided two days later, per the current arrangement.
